Get ready to dive into the depths of metal with Godless! From their latest single 'Amorphous Mass' to their musical evolution and global impact, discover their journey.

1. Congratulations on the upcoming release of "Amorphous Mass"! Could you tell us more about the inspiration behind this track and how it fits into the larger narrative of your musical journey?
Thanks a bunch. Amorphous Mass is the first time we as a band are releasing a single and not an EP or LP. It’s an evolution of the Godless sound where we wanted to work on a more mid-tempo song while still maintaining the brutality and aggression we have in our older music.
2. "Amorphous Mass" seems to explore themes of experimentation and altered states of consciousness. How do these themes tie into the overall message of the song and your approach to creating music with deeper meaning?
At its core, 'Amorphous Mass' deals with the perilous consequences of meddling with the very fabric of existence. It's a raw exploration of the fractured mind, the erosion of autonomy, and the bone-chilling aftermath of delving into the unknown. This track isn't a cautionary tale—it's a gut-wrenching scream of warning, a primal roar against the dangers that lurk in the shadows of unchecked experimentation. 'Amorphous Mass' serves as a brutal reminder of the unyielding risks inherent in tearing down the barriers of the human psyche.
3. Your band has a strong connection to old-school death metal while also pushing boundaries with innovative elements. How do you strike a balance between honoring the genre's roots and incorporating new ideas into your music?
Honestly, it's not a conscious effort to sound “old-school” or modern. Growing up listening to bands from the 80’s and early 90’s, our sound naturally has that old-school influence which stems from early thrash metal and then evolved into a more death metal sound. We try not to draw too much from any particular influence but write music that comes naturally to us. This does take a lot longer to churn out music but also ensures we don’t have any fillers when it comes to our music.
4. The track description mentions influences from Death, Slayer and Morbid Angel. How do these influences manifest in "Amorphous Mass," and what do you hope listeners will take away from experiencing this sonic journey?
These are some of the bands that really cemented our tastes in metal and it’s impossible to not draw inspiration from bands we grew up listening to. After releasing 3 records, we’ve got a sound where people can listen to a song and know that it’s Godless. With this song, we wanted to take that sound and push ourselves to go beyond our usual comfort zone and bring in something slower and sludgier than what we’ve done while retaining the essence of Godless.

5. Collaborating with Lawrence Mackrory for mixing and mastering must have been exciting. How did this collaboration influence the final sound of "Amorphous Mass," and what was it like working with such an experienced professional?
We’ve been working with Hertz Studios (Decapitated, Vader, Behemoth etc.) for the last 2 records and this time around we wanted a very specific sound and felt that Lawrence would be the ideal person to deliver this. We definitely weren’t wrong. Lawrence was extremely professional with his timelines and understanding the sound of the band and when the first mix came in it was pretty much exactly what we wanted. We are working on a new album and definitely want to continue in this direction sound wise.
6. "Amorphous Mass" is described as having a dark and intense mood. How do you translate these emotions into your live performances, and what can fans expect from your upcoming tour?
The live show is always the most important part of being in a band. We feel a band is only as good as their last live show. We think Godless has been reaching new territories because of our live performances. We try to keep things fresh each time we play live and push ourselves to do better than our last show. This is our third time in Europe and we’re coming back after a 5 year gap. Fans can expect ominous and violent live performance.
7. Your band has achieved significant success both in India and internationally. How has this journey impacted your music and your approach to connecting with fans across different cultures and regions?
It’s been great to interact with fans of the band from across the world. It’s humbling to know that the music means something to people from various corners of the world. This drives us to keep getting better and pushing ourselves to write better records and going harder with our live performances.
8. "Amorphous Mass" follows your debut LP "States of Chaos." How do you feel your sound has evolved since your earlier releases, and what can fans anticipate from your future projects?
Heavier, darker, relentless are the adjectives that could be used to describe the future.

9. The press statement mentions themes of altered consciousness and genetic memories. How important is storytelling and thematic depth in your music, and how do you ensure these elements resonate with your audience?
We've always held storytelling and thematic depth in high regard within our music. To us, a song serves as more than just a collection of sounds—it's an entryway into a realm of dark and morbid themes that dwell within the depths of the human psyche. We strive to evoke vivid mental imagery, drawing our audience into narratives that may unsettle yet captivate. By delving into these realms, we aim to forge a lasting connection that transcends the music itself, leaving a haunting impression that resonates long after the final note fades.
10. As torchbearers of the metal movement, what message do you hope to convey through "Amorphous Mass" and your upcoming endeavors as a band? What legacy do you aim to leave in the metal scene?
We want our music to stand the test of time. Playing any song off our catalog should bring out the ferocity of a live performance to the listener. We aim to keep pushing ourselves and continue touring new territories all while working on new music and releasing records consistently. As a band that pays equal importance to records and live shows, we want everyone who experiences the band live to go home and remember the intensity for years to come.
