Fury of a Dying Planet Debuts Self-Titled Album
Fury of a Dying Planet, the eco-conscious metal project by London-based multi-instrumentalist Doug Rimington, has officially released its self-titled debut album. After amassing over 100,000 streams, the 40-minute release delivers a powerful blend of progressive metal and ambient melodies across eight tracks, including the singles "Bloodied Fjords," "Repetition to Extinction," and "Captive." The album's hard-hitting lyrics tackle themes of environmental destruction, inspired by the Netflix documentary Seaspiracy.
In addition
to the vocal version, an instrumental version of the album has also been
released, showcasing Rimington’s evolving sound. The album’s closing track,
"Heroes of the Earth," offers a hopeful salute to environmental
activists, reflecting Rimington’s passion for the planet. The album features
vocals by Paul Brigstock (Blacklight Vice) and drums by session artist Chris
Allan, with mastering by Justin Hill (SikTh).
Visual
artist Bec Dennison designed the album's logo and artwork, symbolizing the
fading life on Earth, alongside 80s horror-inspired posters for the singles.
Rimington hopes the album will inspire listeners to reflect on environmental
issues or serve as an anthem for eco-warriors.
