Brighton-based queer-punk band Daffodildos is set to release their long-awaited debut EP, Not My Cup of Tea, on October 4th, 2024. After a year of touring across the UK, the trio—comprising Emily Flea (vocals/guitar), Captain Jax (bass), and Dannie Von Flange (drums)—delivers a raw and unapologetic mix of playful rebellion and hard-hitting social commentary.
The EP's
title, a nod to a cheeky critique the band received, reflects the Daffodildos'
irreverent spirit and refusal to conform. Songs like "Ba Ba Ba Da"
capture the band's light-hearted energy, while tracks such as "No
Pride" and "Never Enough" dive into more serious themes.
"No Pride" challenges the commercialization of Pride events, and
"Never Enough" is a candid exploration of addiction struggles.
Released through Not Saints, the UK’s only record label supporting artists in recovery from addiction, Not My Cup of Tea is both a testament to the band’s musical grit and their commitment to tackling tough issues head-on. With punchy vocals and punk-infused instrumentation, the EP will be available across all major streaming platforms.
Daffodildos’
unique sound and fearless message make Not My Cup of Tea a must-listen
for punk fans and advocates of sober living alike.
