1. Can you share how the founding of The Dark Table came about and what motivated you to create this new musical project after your time with Distorthead?

Vincent Desrochers: I wanted to give a shot with Max to express myself with a mind opened philosophy and drop my ideas as a singer compositor.

Maxime Pelletier: It was Vince's motivation when he arrived that remotivated me to start properly, the musical style comes from a mix of projects for a friend that never happened.

2. With your musical journey beginning in 2001, how have your experiences influenced the sound and direction of The Dark Table?

Vincent Desrochers: After being making music since 2020 on Fl Studio, I wasn't doing much with my voice but I also had chords progressions, percussions and my own sound signature to had to a metal darkwave band.

Maxime Pelletier: After a 7 year depression between Distorthead and the dark table.. i have plan everything.. and the name of the band is the meaning of all this ! The Dark Table is a book ive read about a guy writing a book of a murder scene plan for 7 years.

3. Halloween is a significant date for you, both personally and creatively. How does this theme resonate within the band's music and aesthetic?

Vincent Desrochers: A big part about my youth is wasted. Music has saved my life many times. Because of my mother, I know great metal band as Mudvayne, Marylin Manson, Killswitch Engage, Korn, Cradle of Filth. My father is a great singer. I discovered Classic rock and heavy metal on his side.

Maxime Pelletier: Its simple.. I am the devil :) no one else dream of dark stuff like I do trust me. Ahahaha but seriously i am born on Halloween and always loved the Dark Aspect of life in general.

4. The addition of new members like Vincent Desrochers seems to bring fresh energy to the band. How has the lineup change impacted your creative process and overall sound?

Vincent Desrochers: I think I bring a completely new vision to Max perspective about music. My clean vocals his for the first time in Max's project a welcomed singing style.

Maxime Pelletier: Lineup change ? Ahaha I don't remember this (sarcasm) the band started with Vince Leading his voice.

5. Your music is described as a fusion of metal, Synthwave, and Darkwave. What challenges have you faced in blending these genres, and how do you feel it sets you apart in the metal scene?

Vincent Desrochers: Bringing my touch to the mixing and my preference for low tempo records was kind of a pain in the butt for me because Max is more of a mid-tempo but the more I compose with him, the more I like the way it goes. Hopefully we'll expend our sound design to be more inter-generation.

Maxime Pelletier: Im a fan of Kung Fury i needed to get into.

6. Can you tell us more about the lyrical themes explored in your singles "Dancing with the Dead" and "Circus of Change"? What messages or emotions do you aim to convey through your music?

Vincent Desrochers: Max gave me the first idea of the what this Dancing would speech of. I always easily match Max songs vibe to compose lyrics on theme. Circus of Change is really just the Joker you know. I watched Joker 2 in 2024. I really like this movie. The accuracy about mental health and all that. It's just crazy to me because I see myself in the movie as the Joker. In a different dimension it could have been me as sad as it can be.

Maxime Pelletier: I was aiming a real fact of my own life .. figuring my relation with my own dad . dancing with the dead mean walking on the rope of the death .. consummation of bad thing.. gladly I’m not 100 % cure cuz we always are addicted but i have a past i am not proud of talking about!

7. The upcoming single "Back to the 80's" seems to have generated significant buzz. What can fans expect from this track, and how does it fit into the overall concept of your debut album?

Vincent Desrochers: It send a message related to a theory about fiction becoming reality. Entities that knew and the journey of a man going through reality. The album talk about mostly about mind state and some reminders.

Maxime Pelletier: We are bringing you back a mix of past and future together.

8. You mentioned a commitment to a hands-on production approach. How does Maxime Pelletier’s involvement in mixing and mastering contribute to the band’s artistic vision?

Vincent Desrochers: For this album, we both have jobs and bills to pay. I’m also studying in video game dev & design. Max is mixing and producing the instrumental. I can tell that he is more invested than me for now.

9. As you prepare for the release of your debut album, what are your hopes for its reception, and what do you want listeners to take away from the experience?

Vincent Desrochers: Honestly, I just want to give a good peak of what I can do as a singer. I wasn't super good at screaming, growls and all that but I really enjoy the packaging and practice related to it.

Maxime Pelletier: That is only the beginning... 2025 is not even start yet.
