The Total Sound Of The Undergound

Los Angeles alternative rock band Dead by Sunday recently dropped their latest single, "333" on September 29, 2024. This track captures the raw energy that founding members Samantha Santana (lead vocalist and guitarist) and Alex Chubb (lead guitarist and vocalist) have crafted since the band’s formation in 2020. With influences ranging from Wolf Alice to The Deftones, "333" also features Stuart Blackie on drums and Zade Dardari on bass, adding layers of intensity to the track.

Initially recorded in a garage and fine-tuned in their studio, "333" is a gritty, reflective take on themes of consumerism and politics. The song challenges listeners to question the state of society and those who follow it without question. Dead by Sunday’s signature style combines gritty vocals, intricate guitar riffs, and driving rhythm, evoking the sounds of bands like Tool and Queens of the Stone Age. This release follows their appearances at iconic venues, including The Viper Room and The Whiskey A-Go-Go, solidifying their presence in the Los Angeles music scene.

Samantha Santana emphasizes the band's ethos, saying, "The song is pronounced ‘Threes,’ not ‘three-three-three’—a nod to our view on society’s patterns." With its thought-provoking lyrics and fierce energy, "333" has already made an impact, showcasing Dead by Sunday as a rising force in alternative rock.
