ViseriA, a progressive death metal band from Tizapán el Alto, Mexico, blends cultural pride with powerful compositions. With innovative performances and meaningful themes, they’re redefining the metal scene globally.

ViseriA has been creating music since 2011. Can you share the story behind the
band's formation and how your vision has evolved over the years?
ViseriA was founded by a group of friends that share the same taste of music,
every member of the band were playing in different bands but each of us wanted
to play heavier music. So we decide to make a new band with powerful music and
that's how ViseriA was born.
Along the years some members of the band left, but we were still composing our
own music and we were aiming to record all the songs one day. Now we're
releasing single by single of a full lenght album with 10 tracks and we have
released our first video clip of the single "En Tierra de Tiza".
That's how our vision has envolved over the years!
2. Your latest single, «En Tierra de Tiza», carries a powerful title. What
inspired this track, and what message or emotions are you aiming to convey
through it?
As you already know we are from Tizapán el Alto, Mexico and the word
"Tizapán" means "Place of Tiza", Tiza is a mineral that
exist in the region. The song en "En Tierra de Tiza" was composed by
Heriberto Alatorre and he was inpired by the landscapes that surround our
homeland, describing each element that characterizes the land where we were
born. The lirycs talk about an invincible warrior in the pre-Hispanic times and
what we want to convey through it is that people to identify with that warrior
and feel proud of their origin and roots.
3. You’ve described your goal as striving for global recognition through
innovative performances. What sets ViseriA apart from other bands in the
progressive death metal scene?
We always try to make our live concerts become into a show, in every concert we
play there is a woman performing a fire show while we are playing live. We aim
to set in future a show with innovate technology which creates an atmosphere
that makes you feel the rage and power of the nature, that's what our music
expresses. But definitely what sets ViseriA apart from other bands is our
original compositions, we have set a sound that it's even difficult to know
which gender our music fits in. We are in searching of creating a new style of
music in the Metal wold!
4. The recording for «En Tierra de Tiza» took place in your home studio,
while mixing and mastering were handled by Roberto Salgado at Estudio Diez Seis
Uno. How did this collaboration enhance the final product?
Roberto Salgado is one of the best music producers in Guadalajara city and his
collaboration enhanced pretty much the sound of our musical style, that's why
we decided he to handle the mixing and mastering of our music.
5. Your music often explores meaningful themes. Can you tell us more about the lyrical and conceptual direction of your upcoming 10-track album?
On this album we use different kind of themes on the lyrics, there are some songs that have an apocalyptic lyric, and there is a song that explores a topic of what is after death far beyond all religions and beliefs. "En Tierra de Tiza" has a lyric about our homeland and it's like a hym to us because we want to express the proudness of being originally from Tizapán el Alto. But the main theme that we use in most of the songs is about the atrocities and genocides committed during the conquest to the ancient civilizations of Mexico, giving way to what is today modern Mexico.
6. You’ve shared the stage with several notable bands. How have those experiences influenced your live performances and your approach to connecting with audiences?
They have definitely been very good experiences for us as a band because being with professional bands makes that we also give quality shows and even they inspire us to improve ourselves every day.
7. Mexico has a rich cultural and musical heritage. How does being from Tizapán el Alto, Jalisco, shape your music and identity as a band?
It's difficult to have a metal band in a town because there are few metalheads and there's not so much support for this kind of music. But we want to show up that also in towns there are good bands!
8. With three singles already released from your upcoming album, how do they represent the broader sound and themes of the full record?
There are only three singles released but each of them represents the head, the heart and feets so they are the direction of all our music.

9. As a progressive death metal band, how do you strike a balance between technical proficiency and emotional depth in your compositions?
It is something natural when composing our music, we always explore a theme that we want to express and we begin to improvise music that audibly transmits the message and emotions that we want to express without losing the power and essence of our musical style.
10. What’s next for ViseriA? Can fans look forward to a full album release, live shows, or any other exciting projects in the near future?
At the moment we will be presenting new releases of the next singles and then presenting the full album, we also have in mind to make new video clips and we're expecting to have some live performances in our region this coming year 2025.
