The Total Sound Of The Undergound

Lelahel Metal

Australian punk duo The Cunning Linguists have unleashed their latest single, A Song for Elon, released on February 13, 2025. The track delivers a bold and politically charged message, taking aim at societal control and the unchecked influence of the wealthy elite. Inspired by acts like Amyl and the Sniffers, Bikini Kill, and Pussy Riot, Clare Easdown and Jade Ryan craft an unfiltered, raw sound that demands attention.

Recorded entirely in Clare’s home in Menai using just an iPhone and Apple headphones, A Song for Elon embraces a DIY ethos, proving that powerful music doesn’t require expensive gear—just passion and purpose. The track critiques Elon Musk and the vast disparities between the elite and the working class. The duo even filmed their music video with Clare’s housing number on display as a statement on privacy erosion in modern society.

With recent performances at The Moshpit Bar, LazyBones Lounge, and Live Music Zone in Sydney, The Cunning Linguists continue to bring their message to the stage. A Song for Elon isn’t just a song—it’s a wake-up call, urging listeners to question power structures and make their voices heard.
