The End Is Near Unleashes a Relentless Debut with Executioner EP
Orange County-based metalcore and deathcore outfit The End Is Near storms onto the scene with their debut release, Executioner EP, released on March 11, 2025. Clocking in at just under eight minutes, this short yet impactful offering is a brutal showcase of the band's influences, drawing inspiration from 100 Demons, The Acacia Strain, and Despised Icon.
The EP
features four unrelenting tracks, including Digging Ditches, which
boasts a guest appearance from Alex Gurnbaum, former vocalist of Adora. With a
dynamic mix of pummeling riffs, crushing breakdowns, and intense vocal
performances, the band delivers a cohesive listening experience meant to be
consumed in one sitting. The closing track, Grindhouse, ensures the EP
ends with an earth-shaking finale.
Recorded, engineered, and produced by guitarist Tim Baker in his home studio, Executioner EP highlights the band’s DIY ethos and raw energy. Chris Hagen’s blistering vocals and Nick Rickenbach’s punishing drumming further solidify The End Is Near as a force to be reckoned with in the modern metal scene.
With a full-length
LP on the horizon, Executioner EP is just the beginning—expect nothing
but heavy music for the hopeless.
